Description
East Coast and Austin based family is in need of an active, bilingual (Spanish/English), long-term nanny for busy parents who are expecting and who also have an 8-month-old boy and two-school ages girls to start ASAP. The main responsibility of the nanny revolves around helping the pregnant mother, the care of the 8-month old and of course the care of the newborn once he/she arrives. Newborn care experience and/or training is essential for this position, as well as being COVID-19 vaccinated.
The family is looking for an Austin-based nanny (or someone who can relocate to Austin) who has the flexibility to travel as-needed with the family to their homes in New York, Aspen or ideally anywhere they travel on vacation. Currently the family has a newborn care specialist based in NY, so they’re looking for someone based in Austin who can help during the time their NY nanny isn’t available. The family will typically be in Austin 2-3 weeks every month; they need a nanny who will prioritize this position and will always be available when they are in town. When they are not in town, the nanny will have this time off and will still be paid her regular salary.
The nanny will work a 40-hour workweek M-F with hours TBD and should be available to work occasional weekends with advanced notice from the family.
Other duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- All childcare related duties (feeding, bathing, changing diapers etc.)
- Keeping a baby journal for the newborn/parents
- Cooking or making lunches for the children
- Driving the children (must have a great driving record)
- Team player with the other nanny, parents and household staff
- Occasional overnight care for the newborn when he/she arrives
- Traveling nationally and internationally with the family on their vacations
- Light housekeeping (picking up after children and yourself)
- Keeping up CPR/First Aid certifications
The nanny should be confident in her abilities to adjust to new situations and go with the flow. Ideal candidates are those who are energetic, have a positive attitude and can remain calm and balanced in stressful situations. Being socially comfortable around the family, new people and places are crucial. Those who truly love children and a busy household will thrive in this position; you will not be bored!
Ideal candidates will have newborn care training, some overnight experience (not a must), comfortable swimming with babies and Spanish-speaking candidates are a plus. We are hoping to find a great match for this family who will be with them for many years. This is an incredible opportunity for those who love caring for babies, like staying active and can travel on occasion. Candidates must have a valid Passport and their own vehicle to get to work. The family will be providing a safe vehicle for the nanny when she drives the children anywhere.
