New Jersey family of 5 is in search for a wonderful live-in or live-out Family Assistant “FA” for a couple with three girls and two dogs in Rumson (07760) to start November 1, 2021. The girls are in school full-time during the week. We are looking for a mature and reliable FA who has an excellent driving record and who ideally has both professional childcare and personal assistant experience.
The FA needs to be flexible to work a 40 hour workweek M-F 9am-5pm and an occasional Saturday night from 6-10pm for the parents to have a date night with advanced notice. This will be the FA’s daily schedule during the school year and will slightly change during the summer. One of the main responsibilities of the FA is driving the children to and from school as well as after school activities and or appointments etc. While the children are at school the FA should be available to tidy up the home, run errands or go grocery shopping. The family has a housekeeper so the FA will not be expected to do any major cleaning nor will she be expected to do any major cooking.
The FA will have her own private quarters in the family’s basement with her own bedroom and bathroom if she decides to live-in.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Childcare
- Tutoring and helping children with homework
- Pet Care for the two dogs (walking, feeding, taking to vet appointments etc.)
- Personal Assistant duties for parents
- Running errands
- Driving children
- Light housekeeping
- Being available/flexible for emergencies
Ideal candidates would be those who have been a professional Family Assistant, Nanny or Household Manager. The FA must have a good driving record and the family will be providing a vehicle for her for on-duty use. We are looking for experienced candidates with previous long-term tenure in a similar position with excellent references. Currently our search is for local candidates in the New Jersey area but we are open to exceptional out-of-state candidates.
Most importantly the FA must have a good and positive attitude with a strong work ethic. She should be able to follow directions well and be a reliable help and team player. The FA should not need to be told what to do but be able to anticipate her responsibilities independently once she is familiar with her duties and the family’s needs. The family is looking for someone who will be like a member of their family for many years.
