Deb's Domestic Agency is currently in search for a wonderful, long-term, live-in FA (family assistant) for a busy family to start ASAP. The main responsibility of the FA is to care for the youngest child who is 4. Since COVID19, the family is looking for someone who can also help manage the 12 and 17 year olds in their education since they are all being home schooled. Although the main care is going to be for the 4 year old, the family is looking for someone who can assist in his education and care for him as he grows if they choose to not put him into school. Ideal candidates should have a bachelor's degree in education.
Flexibility is essential for this position. The family has homes in different parts of the US in beautiful secluded locations, as well as in big cities. We are looking for a FA who will be dedicated to this family for the long haul whether they are in Aspen, Montana or New York City. The FA will always have her own private quarters wherever the family decides to bunker down. Once the family feels it's safe, there will also be extensive travel. However, the family will not be traveling within the next few months unless it’s between their private properties in the US.
Other duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Driving
Cooking (for children)
Running errands
Personal Assistant duties for parents
Team player with other nanny, parents, teachers and household staff
Helping with parties, decorating, entertaining etc.
Overnight care for children if parents are traveling
Traveling internationally with the family
Children's laundry
Dog care (pet sitting, walking, feeding etc.)
Tutoring (helping with homework and school projects)
Light housekeeping
The FA should be confident in her abilities to adjust to new situations and go with the flow. Ideal candidates are those who are energetic, have a great attitude, love to travel and experience new things. Being socially comfortable around the family, new people and places are crucial. Those who truly love children and travel will thrive in this position.
Once the FA learns the family's busy schedules, likes and dislikes, she should be able to stay busy without being told what to do. At the same time, she should always embrace both positive and negative feedback without taking it personal. The family understands there's a learning curve so the governess will have plenty of time to be trained and learn the routines. We are hoping to find a great match for this family who will be with them for many years. This is an incredible opportunity for those who enjoy a challenge, like staying active and love to travel. Not only will the FA travel to the family's beautiful private properties throughout the US, but she will be able to travel throughout Europe, the Caribbean and other exotic locations with private hotel (or vacation rental) accommodations.
Candidates must have a valid passport and be willing to get tested for the coronavirus before meeting the family in person or starting a trial period. All state and federal guidelines concerning COVID19 will be mandatory to ensure everyone's health and safety.
