Description
Live-in FT professional and experienced Domestic Couple is needed to maintain a family’s Oyster Bay, NY estate. The family is seeking a very long-term commitment, so we’re looking for young, energetic couples that are looking for their next or last long-term position. Candidates must be a couple with over five years of private estate management experience with excellent references, as well as previous long-term tenure with current or former employers to be considered.
The couple will be responsible for cooking, maintaining the interior of residence, including housekeeping, laundry, ironing, valet services, household errands, and maintaining inventory of supplies. Running errands, including grocery shopping, dry cleaning, and purchase of household supplies. Also included; all exterior maintenance of property, light gardening / handyman duties, scheduling appropriate vendor or services, maintain appearance of residence’s outdoor structures / guest house and dog sitting. Assist other staff with dinner parties; serving and cleanup.
Additional Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Chef duties (menu preparations for both formal and informal meals)
Detailed museum level cleaning (includes, but not limited to dusting, vacuuming, and laundering, ironing/steaming and polishing silver)
Assisting with organizational projects and keeping inventory and proper care of linens, china, crystal, silverware, antiques, furniture, artwork, collectibles, electronics, appliances, etc.
Laundry, ironing, wardrobe care, dry cleaning, packing and unpacking, storing seasonal clothing
Answering the telephone, door and gate as well as receiving guests
Collecting mail and accepting deliveries
Coordinate all entertaining and guest needs; greet and assist guests
Responsible for shopping and stocking the kitchen and home with necessary provisions
Setting and clearing of tables and cooking and serving meals
Basic handyman skills to maintain all structures on the property
Driving employer and guests, at request

Pet care
Requirements:
Knowledge of how to clean and care for antiques, art, fine rugs and draperies.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion surrounding sensitive information.
Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent attention to detail.
Highly professional, self-motivated and organized.
Adept at receiving and carrying out directions.
Positive attitude, loyal and honest.
Flexible personality with an ability to remain calm under pressure.
Ideal candidates are those who have formal estate management training from places like the International Institute of Modern Butlers or Starkey Institute but it's not required.
