Description

North Carolina based entrepreneur is in need of a live-in Butler/Cook/Driver who can start ASAP. The entrepreneur’s main home is in Chapel Hill, NC but travels often to other locations throughout the US.

The ideal candidate is well-organized, young, smart and a great communicator. We are looking for Butler’s who have a minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in a similar position with a strong work ethic, long-term tenure with previous families/employers and a positive attitude. Since this is a long-term position, we are looking for someone who can commit to this position for many years.

Butler qualifications:

  • Must be able to travel domestically throughout the year
  • Valid DL and Passport
  • Good driving record
  • Cooking experience or culinary training
  • Computer savvy and experience with researching and purchasing
  • Technically savvy. Familiar with Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets and Calendar. Resourceful in terms of internet search and online shopping
  • Experience with juggling and fulfilling a dynamic workload with lots of moving parts
  • When the workload is lighter, adept at finding ways to add value
  • Working calmly but efficiently under pressure
  • Eager to learn and grow, often on the fly and on-the-job
  • Able and willing to carry and move heavy objects such as boxes, furniture/furnishings as needed; must be able to lift up to 50lbs; capable of physical aspects of the work
  • Must always act with discretion, tact, composure, and in ways that maintain/enhance the Principal’s reputations and relationships.
  • CPR Certification or willingness to become certified

 

The daily schedule is M-F 9am-5pm with the flexibility to work longer hours or weekends with advanced notice.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Running a smooth and organized household
  • Managing Principal’s schedule, calendar and commitments
  • Managing supplies (restocking, purchasing etc.)
  • Light housekeeping (putting away dishes from dishwasher etc.)
  • Managing housekeeper/s
  • Running errands
  • Track birthdays and other important dates
  • Purchase gifts, develop and maintain gift tracker, and review and audit receipts
  • Prepare and submit expense reports
  • Occasional wardrobe maintenance, i.e., schedule tailor, dry cleaning
  • Work with Executive Assistant as needed to ensure schedule is maintained

One of the most important qualities in the Butler is that he has a great attitude with a strong work ethic and not need to be told what to do. Part of the job description is being proactive and anticipating the needs of the Principal over time. The Butler needs to be able to respond professionally to both positive and potentially negative feedback while keeping open and honest communication.
