Description

We are in search of a Household Manager (HM) who will assist a professional executive in her Minneapolis home in the Kenwood/Lowry area (55403) providing oversight of all household maintenance and activities. We are looking for a HM who can do daily light housekeeping duties but will not be expected to do any heavy cleaning.

Duties will include project and vendor management, general upkeep, light housekeeping/cleaning, meal preparation, home organization, grocery shopping and errand running as needed. The HM will work approximately 40-45 hours per week, primarily during regular business hours, but may work occasional nights or weekends. The HM’s work schedule is full-time Monday-Friday 9am-5pm with the flexibility to stay later or come in earlier when needed with advanced notice.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate, manage and be present for household services - cleaners, appliance repairs, deliveries, contractors, etc.
  • Daily housekeeping tasks - load/unload dishwasher, empty waste bins, maintain common areas of home, make beds, change bedding regularly, refresh bathroom linens and toiletry items, etc.
  • Light/moderate cleaning in all areas of the home
  • Meal preparation - coordinate and prep menu and cook healthy meals (negotiable)
  • Laundry - wash, fold, and iron (as needed) clothes and linens and keep laundry room neat and organized; manage dry cleaning items
  • Grocery and household supply shopping
  • Organizational projects (closets, drawers, etc.)
  • Ensure all household mechanical and electrical systems are in good working order (i.e. HVAC, security system, cable, and wireless network, etc.)
  • Schedule and supervise repairs and maintenance as needed and oversee outside professionals such as electricians and plumbers in the home
  • Oversee all projects scheduled at the home and coordinate and manage subcontractors
  • Coordinate and oversee seasonal contractors - lawn, landscaping, and snow removal
  • Assist with lawn and garden maintenance as needed (watering of flowers, etc.)
  • Coordinate and manage pest control as needed
  • Manage the maintenance of all vehicles and watercraft; schedule routine service and manage appointments, tabs, titles, and storage
  • Maintain home office equipment and ensure in good working order
  • Pet care for family dog including walks, vet and grooming appointments
  • Seasonal decorating, gift wrapping and managing presents and delivery
  • Assist with planning special events, catering, flowers, birthday cakes, etc.
  • Run errands as needed
  • Other projects and duties as assigned

Most importantly the HM must have a good and positive attitude with a strong work ethic. He/she should be able to follow directions well, take initiative and be a reliable help and team player. Over time, the HM should not need to be told what to do but be able to anticipate their responsibilities independently based on the family’s needs and preferences.
