Description
DDA is in search for a professional Household Manager (HM) for a family of 4 with 2 dogs to start in February 2020. The children are ages 7 and 16; however, the 16 year old is mostly independent and will be there 50% of the time so childcare will be mostly for the 7 year old.
The HM will need to be able to travel on occasion with the family and be able to work overnights or late hours on Wednesdays. Flexibility and self-management is essential in this position. Weekly hours will be based on the HM's ability to self manage her schedule so that she is done with most of her daily duties before picking up the children from school. The HM will spend about 30% of her time with childcare duties and the rest will be devoted to household management and the duties and responsibilities listed below:
Grocery shopping
Cooking for the children
Laundress (children's laundry, parent's dry cleaning, hand washing certain delicate items)
Light housekeeping (organizing, tidying up home etc.)
Pet care (walking dogs, feeding, vet appointments etc.)
Running errands for parents
Picking up children from school or activities (FA's vehicle)
Travel with family on occasion (up to 2-weeks per year)
Overnight care when parents are traveling (1-2 days/month)
Scheduling (self and family)
General household management
The HM should have previous professional experience in the duties listed above for at least 3 years with excellent references. This position requires someone who is highly self-disciplined with a strong work ethic who doesn't need to be told what to do and can quickly solve problems independently yet is also able to follow directions. The parents also have other employees who the HM will need to work as a team with; so good communication skills are necessary.
Since the HM will be driving her vehicle as part of her duties, ideal candidates will have a safe vehicle and must have a clean driving record. There will be a generous gas allowance for use of the HM's vehicle for work related duties. All other benefits are negotiable in the salary based on the HM's preferences.
