Busy family of six is in need of a live-out Head Executive Housekeeper (HEH) to start ASAP. The family has two homes and several housekeepers that the HEH will manage, train and lead by example. It will be the responsibility of the HEH to make sure the other housekeepers are trained and knowledgeable in all areas of cleaning, sanitizing, laundry, ironing and overall upkeep and organization of the family’s homes. We are looking for those who have experience in a similar position who have managed a team of housekeepers and know how to create a clean, peaceful and well-maintained home environment for the family.
The HEH’s work schedule is Monday-Friday with occasional weekends when the couple is entertaining or just needs extra help. Hours are TBD, which will reflect a 40-45 hour workweek. Flexibility to stay later or come in earlier when needed is essential.
The ideal candidate is a natural leader who can inspire the other housekeepers to work at their highest level and earn their respect by her example. She should also work well as a team player and will work closely with the Household Manager. We are looking for HEH’s who have a minimum of 10+ years of professional experience, a strong work ethic and long-term tenure with previous families. Spanish speaking is a plus, but the housekeeper must be able to speak English and communicate well with the other housekeepers who speak Spanish. Since this is a long-term position, we are looking for someone who can commit to this family for many years.
Other duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- All major housekeeping
- Leading team of housekeepers by example
- Managing schedule and duties of all housekeepers
- Training new housekeepers
- Managing the housekeeping team (hiring/firing)
- Contact between the housekeepers and HM
- Laundry & ironing
- Managing supplies (restocking, purchasing etc.)
- Helping caterers during parties
- Assist other household staff as needed
- Deep cleaning
- Light cooking
- Purchasing household supplies
- Organizing
- Running errands
- PA duties as needed
This is a hands-on position, which does include both cleaning, delegating and managing a team. Some of the most important qualities in the HEH is that she has a positive attitude and works well under pressure. The HEH should also have great people skills and be able to work independently, with her team and around the family while creating an environment of hard work, trust and respect.
