Description
DDA is in search for a private chef for a busy couple and their 6-month old baby. The family has a small kitchen so the chef would need to make the food at their own place and bring it over every other day throughout the week. Ideal candidates will have a degree or training in nutrition of some kind although it's not a requirement. The most important thing is that the chef has a passion for health and nutrition and will create healthy meal menus each week for the family.
Now that the 6-month old is eating, the chef should also be able to make organic pureed baby appropriate foods as well. The chef should be familiar with the Austin food market to find the highest quality grass-fed or pasture-raised meats, wild caught fish and of course organic fruits and vegetables in season. One parent has a shrimp allergy.
Below are some examples of the family's regular meals although they'd like the chef to add more healthy and creative options:
Kale and cabbage salad with cucumbers
Baked salmon
Linguine with clams in light sauce
Vegetable soup
Beef bone broth
Chicken tortilla soup
Smoked salmon with bagels and cream cheese
Grilled chicken with veggies and pureed cauliflower
This position is available immediately for local candidates only who currently live in, or very close, to Austin, TX. The chef will also do all of the family's grocery shopping and on occasion the family may host a small dinner party (post COVID) for friends and family of 10 or so, which the chef should be comfortable cooking for. For large special events or occasions, the family will hire a catering company.
Those interested in the position should not have any other major commitments and should consider this their full-time job and first priority.
