Description
Professional parents of an 8-year old girl are looking for an experienced Family Assistant ASAP. The FA's schedule will be working at least 4 days during the workweek about 7am-4pm with one later evening. In addition to the weekday schedule the FA may need to work one weekend day such as 9am-4pm. It's important the FA is flexible to the family's needs and the family will make sure the FA has two full days off in a row every week unless there's an unexpected need or emergency (or the FA doesn't care if she has 2 consecutive days off).
The father is European and his 90-year old mother will be in the home as well and only speaks German. Ideally, we'd like to find a German speaking FA for this family but it's not a requirement. Although the grandmother is completely independent and doesn't need a caregiver yet, the parents would like the FA to be around just in case the grandmother needs help of any kind. Another ideal quality in a FA is someone who has any kind of medical background or training. It's not a must but would be a plus.
Other duties include but are not limited to the following:
Childcare
Cooking for the family
Running errands
Grocery shopping
Scheduling
Organizing
Family's laundry
Clerical work
Business assistance
Computer work
Internet research
Household management (when parents are traveling)
The family has a vehicle for the FA when on duty. If the FA prefers to live-in that may be a possibility but for now we're searching for someone locally who can live-out. Some of the most important qualities the family wants are a FA who can get along well with multiple personalities and have a positive and hard-working attitude. Other important qualities are someone who is a natural caregiver who not only loves children but also the elderly. The right candidate must be skilled in managing a home and confident in both her domestic and general business and secretarial skills. Although we prefer to find local candidates, for those who are out-of-state but can speak German please apply if you have the qualifications we're looking for.
