Description

Austin-based entrepreneur and investor is in need of a long-term, part-time Executive Personal Assistant/Household Manager (EPA/HM) who will be able to go to full-time in the near future. The EPA/HM’s hours are up to 25/week M-F with occasional weekends if the Principal is entertaining. Flexibility is essential if the Principal needs additional day/hours with advanced notice.

EPA/HM qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (ideal)
  • COVID-19 vaccinated
  • Maintaining high degree of confidentiality, honesty and handling private information with utmost discretion
  • Highly organized with strong communication and time management skills
  • Experience working in private homes and managing vendors
  • Ability to occasionally work remotely on projects
  • Proactive, confident personality; ability to act as a representative on the Principal’s behalf
  • Must be a fast learner and have a desire to grow. This role has the opportunity to grow into a full time position
  • Previous executive assistant experience is a plus but not required
  • Computer savvy and experience with researching and purchasing
  • Experience in event planning
  • Superb calendar, travel, and administrative management skills
  • When the workload is lighter, adept at finding ways to add value
  • Able and willing to carry and move heavy objects such as boxes, furniture/furnishings as needed; must be able to lift up to 50lbs; capable of physical aspects of the work
  • Must always act with discretion, tact, composure, and in ways that maintain/enhance the Principal’s reputations and relationships.

The ideal EPA/HM candidate is well organized, smart and a great communicator. We are looking for EPA/HM’s who have a minimum of 5+ years of professional experience, a strong work ethic, long-term tenure with previous families/employers and a positive attitude. Since this is a long-term position, we are looking for someone who can commit to this position for many years.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Running a smooth and organized household
  • Create a household manual for Principal
  • Running errands (EPA/HM’s vehicle)
  • Available to housesit and pet sit when the Principal travels (or make appropriate arrangements)
  • Managing the housekeeper and all home maintenance and upkeep
  • Creating and maintaining upkeep calendars for the home, working closely with executive assistant
  • Proactively spotting issues in the home and attending to them on the owner’s behalf
  • Maintain household supplies inventory (cleaning products, personal items, etc.)
  • Hold a set of house keys in case anything needs to be done in owner’s absence
  • Overseeing the operation and maintenance of the Principal’s home including sourcing, hiring and managing vendors and contractors (housekeeper, pool, landscaping, handymen, etc.) as well as seeing projects through to completion
  • Help plan and manage monthly onsite dinners & events
  • Personal errands and other projects

One of the most important qualities in the EPA/HM is that they have a great attitude with a strong work ethic and not have to be told what to do. Part of the job description is being proactive and anticipating the needs of the Principal over time. The EPA/HM needs to be able to respond professionally to both positive and potentially negative feedback while keeping open and honest communication.
