Description
We are seeking a young, energetic couple to manage 5 properties as well as the caretaker's house. The ideal property caretaker would be able to pick up and move heavy equipment, have a landscaping, gardening and carpentry background and be very well organized and hard working. This position is year round. The ideal couple would have one person working in this position full time, while the other can help manage at times but can have an outside career.
There is a pickup truck for on-duty use but if the caretaker uses their own vehicle they will be reimbursed for gas mileage. The caretaker will need to be willing to learn about all the complex solar house systems for each house and create and maintain a logbook for each one. Once the caretaker is fully trained, they will need to be able to take full ownership of these systems.
The caretaker’s schedule during the warm busy months can be flexible as long as they are putting in an average of 8 hours a day M-F. This schedule will be set after a working trial period. However, the caretaker will need to be on-call for any handy-man duties during normal hours for the tenants and family.
The caretaker’s living quarters are a 2 bed/2 bath house with a small private yard, best for a small dog. It is 1300 sq. feet located next door to the family’s house but completely separate and private. If the caretaker has a dog, it must be a friendly dog that does not bark a lot. All the caretaker’s utilities, cable and Internet will be covered and the location of the caretaker’s house is in a very desirable area . The start date is mid September 2015.
