Description
We are in search for an older, mature and experienced childcare provider to care for a school-aged girl and a newborn. The nanny would have her own separate living quarters in the family's home with complete room and board provided as well as a private entrance. During the weekdays the nanny would be responsible for getting the little girl ready for school M-F, driving her to school and activities and helping care for her at the end of the evenings M-Th. The nanny would have off every Friday evening after driving the child to her last weekday lesson around 3pm as well as either a Saturday or Sunday off. If there were ever an emergency or the family needed the nanny's help on her day off, the nanny would need to be flexible and have this position be her first priority. Flexibility is essential which is why this family is looking for a live-in nanny.
The nanny's schedule is also somewhat flexible but the essential hours are M-F 6:30am-11am and then a break for the nanny to do personal errands or whatever she likes, then helping the mother with the newborn or watching the newborn alone from 2-4:30pm. After 4:30pm, the nanny will pick up the little girl from school and help until about 8:30pm. Weekday duties include the following:
Preparing breakfast and dinner for the little girl
Driving child to school and picking her up from school
Additional driving to weekday lessons and activities
Running errands for the family
Light housekeeping
Bathing the newborn and little girl
Preparing dinner for the family on occasion
Helping the mother care for the newborn
Caring for the newborn and little girl alone
Children's laundry
Helping care for pets
After school tutoring and help with homework
The nanny will need to have newborn care experience and be able to take charge without having to be told what to do all the time. The family would love to have a nanny who can be with them long-term for many years like a member of their family. This means the nanny will need to be able to commit to a long-term position and should not apply to this job if she has any upcoming plans to move or change careers. Some of the most important qualities the family is looking for in a nanny is someone who is hard-working, reliable, communicative and loving. They would love someone who is also positive, has a good attitude and can be a great role model to their children and a consistent help to them. The family will make sure the nanny is well taken care of and equally as happy so they are very flexible on weekend hours.
In addition to the weekday hours the family would like to have the live-in nanny help on a weekend day. They are very flexible for the right person but ideally the nanny would be able to help some weekends. This can be discussed during the interview or trial period. The family is also flexible to hire a separate weekend nanny if the live-in weekday nanny is not able to work weekends; but they do prefer the same nanny. For the right nanny the family is flexible to offer Saturdays or Sundays off every week and a full weekend off every month or when the nanny requests it, if it works with the parent's schedule. The parents would like to start interviewing nannies as early as the week of December 14th and will be able to start a trial period with a nanny ASAP.
