Working, busy couple with a newborn is in need of a live-out household manager (HM) to start ASAP. The family has just relocated to Austin and they need someone who is available to start ASAP. This position is open to local candidates within a 3-hour drive to Austin. The family is being extra cautious during this time and they may ask our candidates to test for COVID19 before an in-person interview but will cover the cost associated with any tests.
The HM’s work schedule is Monday-Friday with occasional weekends when the couple is entertaining. Hours are starting at 20/week M-F with no travel needed. Flexibility to stay later or come in earlier when needed is essential and this position has the potential to go to full-time in the near future.
The ideal candidate is a natural leader and can work well as a team player with the other household staff. He/she should lead the staff by example with nothing being below him/her. We are looking for HM’s who have a minimum of 8+ years of professional experience, a strong work ethic, long-term tenure with previous families, a positive attitude and great communication skills. Since this is a long-term position, we are looking for someone who can commit to this position and schedule for many years.
Other duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Running a smooth and organized household
Managing household staff (schedule, duties and work)
Excellent computer skills
Handyman skills
Managing supplies (restocking, purchasing etc.)
Helping manage caterers during parties
Manage family’s calendars and schedules
Arrange transportation as needed
Create a household manual for family with vendors etc.
Assist other household staff as needed
One of the most important qualities in the HM is that they have a great attitude with a strong work ethic. The HM is responsible for creating an environment of hard work, trust and respect as his/her role as the main contact between the principals and the household staff.
