Description
Adventurous family with three school-aged children is looking for a wonderful live-in Executive Housekeeper (EH) who can start in early 2021. The family has homes in New York, Montana, Aspen, Michigan and once it's safe to travel again they plan to travel all over Europe and the Caribbean. This of course means the EH must have a valid passport. It's important that the EH is very flexible, adapts well to new situations and has a sense of adventure. This is the perfect position for someone who doesn't have any pets or commitments and is able to go wherever the family goes.
Schedule is 8am-6pm M-F averaging 45-50 hours a week. During the summer in July and August the family will need help 6-days a week.
Private housing, separate from the family, will always be provided. The EH does not need to have her own vehicle and the family will fly her out for a trial period if the virtual interview goes well. It's important that the EH be as safe as possible while traveling during COVID for everyone's safety and follow the recommended safety precautions.
Ideally, the EH will have a background, training or just a love for cooking. The family is not looking for gourmet meals, but healthy tasty meals based on their tastes and preferences. Cooking will be one of the main responsibilities of the EH so it needs to be something she loves. In addition to cooking some of the other main duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- All main housekeeping
- Cleaning around the family (while giving them privacy)
- Family's laundry
- Walking the dog
- Childcare (very rarely if the nanny is sick)
- Running errands (a vehicle will be provided for work only)
- Cooking (breakfast, lunch, snacks & dinner)
- Restocking fridge, pantry, cleaning supplies etc.
Experience in cleaning fine art, furnishings and the proper care of linens is important for this position. The EH must love and be comfortable around children and dogs. Candidates must be hard-working, self-starters that do not need to be told what to do once they’re familiar with the home and the family’s needs and preferences. The EH must pay attention to detail and be able to follow instructions. As long as the EH has a great attitude and can learn from both positive and negative feedback, things should go very well. The ideal candidate will be like a member of the family over time as this is a long-term position.
