Description
We are currently interviewing live-in Family Assistants “FA” for a loving family with three children and two hypoallergenic cats in Austin, TX 78735 to start in April 2021. The children’s ages range from 5-9 years old. We are looking for a very flexible, career FA who is able to travel with the family as needed once things return to a new normal. The family also has homes in London and Israel so the FA must have a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
The ideal FA will be flexible to work a 50-hour workweek and an occasional Saturday night as needed with advanced notice. During the school year the FA’s schedule will be 7am-8am and then she will have most of the day off while the children attend school and will start again when they return from 3pm-8:30pm. In addition to travel the FA should be available overnights to care for the children if both parents need to travel.
The FA will have her own private 1/bed 800 sq. ft. guesthouse across the outdoor pool and the family’s main estate.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Childcare, homework help
- Organizing and cleaning children’s rooms, clothes and toys
- Personal Assistant duties for parents
- Traveling with family as needed
- Cat sitting, litter box upkeep, feeding etc.
- Cooking for children (cooking for family is optional)
- Laundry for children
- Running errands
- Driving children
Ideal candidates would be those who have been a professional Family Assistant, Nanny or Household Manager. Formal training or experience as a cook or chef is a bonus but not required. Those who love cooking and can cook for the entire family will be offered a higher salary. The FA must have a good driving record and the family will be providing a vehicle for her for both off and on-duty use. We are looking for mature, reliable candidates with previous long-term tenure in a similar position with excellent references. Currently our search is for local candidates in the Austin area but we are open to exceptional out-of-state candidates.
Most importantly the FA must have a good and positive attitude with a strong work ethic. She should be able to follow directions well and be a reliable help and team player with the housekeeper. The FA should not need to be told what to do but be able to anticipate her responsibilities independently once she is familiar with her duties and the family’s needs. The family is looking for someone who will be like a member of their family for many years.
