Description
We are in search for a wonderful live-in or live-out Family Assistant “FA” for a family with a three year old in Mars, PA (16046). The FA’s start date is at the end of July of 2021 so we need to fill this position ASAP. We are looking for a flexible FA who is able to work outside of her schedule on occasion or for emergencies as the parents work in health care. Ideally, the FA will also be able to travel with the family on their vacation with extra compensation for travel.
The FA’s schedule is M-F 8am-6pm with occasional help on a weekend day for a few hours with advanced notice. For live-in candidates the family will provide a private room and board. The private room is in the family’s home.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- All childcare related duties
- Traveling with family as needed
- Grocery shopping
- Driving children
- Light housekeeping by keeping the house tidy
- Keeping child’s room, toys, areas clean and organized
- Family’s laundry
- Cooking for the child (and parents if comfortable)
- Running errands for the parents
Most importantly the FA must love children and have experience with toddlers. The family needs someone reliable who will always be on time to work and who is able to manage the home and keep their baby safe and engaged while they are gone. Ideal candidates are Spanish speaking (not required) and those who can create a fun learning environment for the toddler. The parents do NOT want someone who will have the television on all day but someone who likes to create fun projects for the toddler to do both together and independently. Lastly, the FA should not need to be told what to do but be able to anticipate her responsibilities independently once she is familiar with her duties and the family’s needs. Since driving is required, FA candidates must have a clean driving record.
