Description

DDA is currently in search for a wonderful live-in or live-out Family Assistant “FA” for a family with four older children. The children’s ages range from 11-15 years old. We are looking for a mature and reliable FA who has an excellent driving record and who ideally (but not required) speaks Spanish.

The FA needs to be flexible to work a 30-40-hour workweek and an occasional weekend day as needed with advanced notice. During the school year the FA’s schedule will be 6:30am-7:30am and then from 3pm-7pm. One of the main responsibilities of the FA is driving the children to and from school as well as after school activities and or appointments etc. While the children are at school the FA should be available to tidy up the home, run errands or go grocery shopping. The family has a housekeeper and a cook so the FA will not be expected to do any major cleaning or cooking.

For live-in candidates, the FA will have her own private 1/bed 500 sq. ft. garage apartment with private access.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Childcare
  • Tutoring and helping children with homework
  • Personal Assistant duties for parents
  • Running errands
  • Driving children
  • Light housekeeping
  • Being available/flexible for emergencies
  • Housesitting for family when on vacation

Ideal candidates would be those who have been a professional Family Assistant, Nanny or Household Manager. The FA must have a good driving record and the family will be providing a vehicle for her for on-duty use. We are looking for experienced candidates with previous long-term tenure in a similar position with excellent references. Currently our search is for local candidates in the Austin area but we are open to exceptional out-of-state candidates.

Most importantly the FA must have a good and positive attitude with a strong work ethic. She should be able to follow directions well and be a reliable help and team player. The FA should not need to be told what to do but be able to anticipate her responsibilities independently once she is familiar with her duties and the family’s needs. The family is looking for someone who will be like a member of their family for many years.
