DDA is in search for a wonderful live-in or live-out Governess for a family of 6 with twin teenagers who need assistance in Austin, TX 78723. Start date is ASAP. We are looking for a mature and reliable Governess who has an excellent driving record and who ideally (but not required) speaks Spanish.
The Governess will have her own private 1/bed 500 sq. ft. garage apartment with private access if she chooses to live-in.
The twins (boy and girl) are 13-years old and the main responsibilities is picking them up from school and driving them to after school activities/appointments. Other duties include helping the twins with tutoring and homework projects etc.. The Governess needs to be able to work up to 25/hours/week M-F from 3pm-7pm with the flexibility to start earlier or leave later on occasion with advanced notice. The family has a housekeeper and a cook so the Governess will not be expected to do any major cleaning or cooking.
Ideal candidates would be those who have been a professional Governess, Teacher, Family Assistant or Nanny with a degree in education. The Governess must have a good driving record and the family will be providing a vehicle for her for on-duty use. We are looking for experienced candidates with previous long-term tenure in a similar position with excellent references. Currently our search is for local candidates in the Austin area but we are open to exceptional out-of-state candidates.
Most importantly the Governess must have a good and positive attitude with a strong work ethic. She should be able to follow directions well and be a reliable help and team player. The Governess should not need to be told what to do but be able to anticipate her responsibilities independently once she is familiar with her duties and the family’s needs. The family is looking for someone who will be like a member of their family for many years.
