All of our applicants must pass a vigorous screening process that involves a thorough nationwide background investigation including: criminal records, legal judgments, and DMV records. Our staff is trained on what kind of questions to ask in interviews, and how to determine if there are any fraudulent references or answers to specific questions. We look for high moral and character references, personal hygiene, appropriate attire, punctuality, personality and responsibility.
About 80% of all applicants who go through the Deborah Calkin Agency are rejected in the interviewing process. We do not send out any candidates to job interviews unless they have passed all of our placement criteria. This includes 3 personal references, 2 references related to the position, or a minimum of 1-3 years of experience depending upon the position. All applicants must also be willing to undergo a further in depth investigation (e.g. fingerprinting) if requested by a potential employer which is financially covered by the employer.
It is completely FREE for candidates who wants to register with us. We do not charge domestic applicants any kind of fee before or after placement. The agency is responsible for the background checks, and the applicant is responsible for any certifications that apply to thier position.
All of our consultations are free. For on-site consultations, the Deborah Calkin Agency provides private consultants to personalize and advise on professional personnel and services needed. Please contact the agency for more information for on-site consultations. Once a client decides to start a search for a long term placement, there is a non-refundable searching fee of $250 good for one year. This fee is only for the searching process. The searching fee will be applied to the total fee upon placement. It is extremely rare that our staff will take more than a few weeks to find a good match. We can search locally, nationally, or internationally. Clients open to searching nationally or internationally must cover all traveling expensed for non-local domestic candidates they have chosen to interview. This includes flight and hotel accomodations.
We offer a 2-month replacement policy for full time and part time employees. Please check our Pricing and Fees section for more information.
Internet Agencies can be VERY dangerous. There are many scams that take place every day, putting both clients and applicants in potentially harmful situations. Most do not do background checks (or if they do they make the applicant pay for it), and the agency cannot verify if the person is who they say they are because they have never met them. There is no way of knowing if anything is legit unless you go through a local or international agency who personally interviews all potential candidates. Our interviewing process is absolutely vital to ensure the safety of all who use our agency. After placement, we also provide our client with hard copies of the employee’s information such as their resume, driver’s license, car insurance, and certifications upon request.
All of our childcare and eldercare candidates are CPR and First Aid certified; or willing to get certified or re-certified if their certification has expired. We do not send out any applicant who we would not use ourselves.
At the Deborah Calkin Agency we help you through the entire process, from start to finish; which include some of the following examples: employer-employee contracts, tips and advise, communication between both parties, help in negotiating salary and much more.
Our staff will always be available for any questions or concerns before and even after placement. Our priority is to make sure both client and candidate are equally satisfied. We want you to use us again or tell your friends, and we hope to earn that privilege.
Lastly, but definitely not the least, we donate 10% of our net profit to Lifewater International. Click on the link above for more information or visit them at www.lifewaterinternational.org
